General Dentistry
Our teeth are something meant to last a lifetime, and take the wear we give them from every day. Sometimes, however, teeth can become damaged (from cavities or even cracks in the teeth), and the tooth can become infected.
This infection works away at the pulp of the tooth, the network of blood vessels and nerves within. Keeping your teeth clean and regularly attending cleanings help prevent damage that may occur.
Left untreated, damaged pulp can cause infection that will damage the bone, and cause swelling and pain. If a damaged tooth becomes infected, your dentist may have to perform an endodontic treatment (Root Canal Therapy) to save it.
To prevent further damage to your tooth the dentist can restore the tooth with a filling to remove decay, or they can protect the tooth with a crown, inlay or onlay. |
